I have a very dear friend who is enduring what I can only call a crisis of loss compounded by a lack of belief in something beyond this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am a dyed in the wool agnostic, but I believe there is something. Not sure what it is, but I\u2019m reasonably sure that religion has it spectacularly wrong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I choose to believe this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Energy cannot be destroyed. It can only change form. I believe that is what a \u201clife\u201d is. Energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bodies are just things that hold that energy. In effect, they are like cars we ride around in for a while. And these cars come in all shapes and sizes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some are tall. Some short. Some large. And some small and furry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So we ride around in these \u201ccars\u201d, and like any other car we take care of it, but eventually they break down. They were never designed for permanence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So we get out and walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In doing so, we enter that great stream of energy that no longer needs those cars. Envision it however you would like. The Jungian collective unconscious, or just a gigantic pool of energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But within that perhaps we will be drawn to the energy that we were drawn to before. And though we won\u2019t recognize that energy by the car that it rode in, the important part…the energy….the life we loved we will recognize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And even now, unseen by us, is energy. Molecules. Atoms. Ever present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And still attracted to the life, the energy, the love that drew them in their vehicular days. We may not see it, but is never far from us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
